HI INDIA NEWS DESK
GRAYSLAKE, IL- The Hindu Mandir of Lake County in Grayslake, IL, reverently celebrated Hanuman Jayanti, honoring the birth anniversary of Lord Hanuman with profound devotion and enthusiasm. Over three hundred devotees congregated on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, coinciding with the Purnima Tithi, the auspicious full moon day of Shukla Paksha in the Chaitra Masa. This sacred gathering sought to commemorate Hanuman’s divine grace and beseech his blessings for happiness, prosperity, and spiritual fulfillment. Lord Hanuman, also known as the son of Anjana and Kesari, goes by various names including Vanara God, Bajrangbali, and Vayu Dev, with Anjaneya being another revered epithet.

The event commenced with the auspicious sponsor Sankalp, followed by reverent Pujas dedicated to Lord Ganesh, Hanuman Ji, and the Ram Parivar. Devotees fervently recited the Hanuman Chalisa, a hymn praising Hanuman, a hundred times led by Neera and Madhup Dhoan. Temple priests Pt. Anil Joshi Ji, Pt. Balaji Gopal, and Pt. Radha Krishna, alongside sponsor devotees, conducted the Abhishekam of Lord Hanuman Ji with Saffron milk, accompanied by resonating Vedic Mantras and shlokas. A particularly delightful moment unfolded as Baby Hanuman Ji was ceremoniously welcomed into the shrine amidst fervent chants of “Ram Lakshman Janaki, Jai Bolo Hanuman Ki,” and “Shree Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram.”

Devotees contributed homemade traditional Chappan Bhog for Naivedyam, later distributing it as Maha Prasadam to all present. Pt. Joshi Ji extended heartfelt gratitude and blessings to all attendees for their active participation, wishing them great success in their lives.
