Hyderabad: With Cyclone Yaas intensifying in Bay of Bengal, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a two-day thunderstorm warning for Hyderabad and other districts of Telangana. Light showers greeted various parts of the city around late afternoon on Saturday.
The maximum temperature in the city has dropped by at least 3 degrees to 36.9 degree Celsius, whereas the minimum temperature recorded was 25.5 degree Celsius.
The weather experts inform that a low pressure area is very likely to form over north Andaman Sea and adjoining east-central Bay of Bengal today. The pressure is very likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm by May 24.
According to the latest developments, experts warn that thunderstorms accompanied with lightning, gusty winds between 30 kmph and 40 kmph, and hailstorms are very likely to occur at isolated places across Telangana.
Districts including Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Adilabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Jagtial, Pedapalli, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Kamareddy, Sangareddy, Medak, Vikarabad, Narayanpet and Mahabubnagar will receive moderate to heavy rains for the next couple of days.
