HI INDIA NEWS DESK
TORRANCE, CA – The Sri Panchamukha Hanuman Temple and Religious Academy celebrated India’s 78th Independence Day with a vibrant event titled “Jai Ho,” blending patriotism, Bollywood, and environmental awareness. Over 300 participants showcased cultural talents, with traditional dances, songs, yoga, and speeches. The “Parade of States” highlighted India’s regional diversity, and flag dances set to “Jai Ho” and “Vande Mataram” evoked national pride.

A significant part of the event was a performance emphasizing environmental conservation, resonating with the audience. A heartfelt moment came with the exchange of American and Indian flags, symbolizing unity, followed by the singing of both national anthems.

Two individuals—a veteran from the Indian Air Force and a young community volunteer—were honored for their contributions. A vibrant marketplace and carnival-style activities, including a 65-foot obstacle course, added to the festive atmosphere.

The event, attended by dignitaries including Torrance City Mayor George Chen and others, praised the temple’s organizing efforts. Founder Narasimha Aacharya proudly announced the temple’s acquisition of Dhivya Dham, marking a new chapter for the community-focused institution, founded in 2014.
