COVID-19 Testing Positivity Rate is Dropping in Ohio

COLUMBUS, OH — Ohio 685 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, the state health department announced.

Gov. Mike DeWine said that’s the fewest cases confirmed in Ohio, over a single day, since early September. He said he hopes the trend downward continues through this week.

Over the past seven days, Ohio has seen a COVID-19 positivity rate of 2.9 percent, a significant decline for the state.

“We want to get that number down as low as we can,” DeWine said. “We hope to see it go even lower in the future.

The western portion of Ohio is seeing an uptick in COVID-19 transmission locally, even as overall COVID-19 cases decline in Ohio, the governor said.
