Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi Honored for Congressional Achievements

SCHAUMBURG, IL Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) was recently featured on ABC7 Chicago as part of the station’s efforts to highlight prominent members of the greater Chicago community during Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander Heritage Month.

Raja made history last year as the first Asian American to lead a Congressional committee, serving as the Ranking Member of the House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party.

The profile delved into Raja’s journey as an immigrant from India and his influential position in Congress.

In addition to his role as Ranking Member of the Select Committee, Raja serves on the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability and the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

Raja is also a member of the informal Samosa Caucus, comprising the other four Indian Americans in Congress.
