BUY-SELL | HELP WANTED | MATRIMONIAL

Hyderabad: Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) Chairman and Managing Director N Sridhar asked officials concerned to take necessary steps to complete Kothagudam-Sathupalli railway line being constructed by Singareni and South Central Railway (SCR) by March and related railway siding at Sathupalli by February.

At a review meeting on Wednesday at Singareni Bhavan here on coal handling plants (CHPs) throughout Singareni, coal transport, production through organisational heavy machinery, work timings and other aspects, he said the Kothagudam–Sathupalli railway line being constructed as a joint venture between Singareni and SCR at a cost of approximately Rs 1,000 crore for transport of coal from Singareni open cast mines has to be speeded up and should be completed by the end of February.

The officials informed that most of the work was completed for the 52 km railway line. The construction of railway bridges and railway under bridges was also completed and track tests have also been completed. Sridhar instructed officials to complete the balance work without any hindrance.

He said the railway line to Sathupalli mega CHP (10 million tonnes capacity) connecting 10 km railway siding works must also be completed by February and in the coming financial year, transport must start from railway route from Sathupalli.

Sridhar said the heavy machinery utilization in open cast mines should improve and they must work for at least 18 hours a day. Presently, the heavy machineries were working for only 13 to 14 hours and production will increase if the working hours are increased and thus the company will earn more profits.

He advised employees to practice work efficiency to withstand competition from private companies otherwise the Singareni will have to face difficulties like many government companies.

He asked officials to conduct special meetings with workers to encourage them to increase the use of heavy machinery. Moreover, workers should also understand the changing situation and use heavy machinery to its potential, he added.
