Melbourne, Sep 16:  Australia captain Michael Clarke seems to have overcome his hamstring problem and is on track to play the Test series against Pakistan in United Arab Emirates (UAE) next month.

There were fears that Clarke's hamstring injury was tendon-related, but according to Sydney Morning Herald, the injury is not as serious as earlier feared.

It is highly unlikely that Clarke will take part in the ODI series which starts Oct 7 in Sharjah but could play in the four-day game against Pakistan A starting Oct 15.

"You can't be confident about Michael, but he has only missed one game in over 100 (Tests). He is doing intensive rehabilitation work in Sydney, but has not yet started running or batting," Chairman of selectors Rod Marsh had said last week while announcing the squads for the UAE tour.

The Australian captain is expected to travel with the ODI team as scheduled.
