Chicken Nugget Shaped Like ‘Among Us’ Character Sold For Rs 38 Lakhs Because Of BTS Connection

BUY-SELL | HELP WANTED | MATRIMONIAL

Most of us have made that one impulse-buy, that we have come to regret eventually.

A pair of sneakers, a watch, a video game, a mobile phone – these things may be expensive, but they at least have some utility

Now, imagine spending Rs 38 Lakhs on a single piece of chicken nugget, because it looks like a nameless character from a video game.

Well, that is exactly what has happened.

An eBay user has put up a post saying that he has a Chicken McNugget in the shape of a crewmate from the massively popular game, Among Us

What is more surprising, that people have actually bid some insane money on the piece of chicken. The bidding closed at $51,800, or roughly Rs 38 Lakhs.

But why would a piece of chicken cost as much as a decently furnished 1 BHK apartment?

McDonald’s has teamed up with the Korean boy band, BTS, and is selling a combo meal popularly known as the BTS meal in some markets.

A part of that meal consists of a box of Chicken McNuggets. This is where the “magical” piece comes from.

Food items with such appearances are usually auctioned off for ridiculous amounts of money.

In 2016, a piece of Cheetos, the American version for India’s Kurkure, sold for $99,000 because it was shaped like Harambe, the infamous gorilla that was shot inside a zoo in the US.

Then, there was this instance, when a cheese toast, that apparently looks like the Virgin Mary, was auctioned off in 2004, for $28,000.

Given BTS’ global appeal and popularity, and the fact that any unique and bizarre merchandise with their name connected to it has become a collectable, we can see why someone bid $51,800 on it.

The listing says that the nugget is ‘slightly used,’ and that it will be frozen and air-sealed before it is shipped.

We just wonder, what was the person thinking when they placed the bid? And what happens when the thing starts going bad?

Well, that would make this ordeal quite interesting, wouldn’t it?
