New Delhi, Jan 24: The Centre on Tuesday told the Supreme Court that it was mulling bringing a law or an executive order for the uniform functioning of national sports bodies.

Informing the apex court of the intention of the central government,  Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi asked the bench of Justice Dipak Misra, Justice A.M. Khanwilkar and Justice D.Y. Chandrachud to keep in abeyance for two weeks the appointment of a committee of administrators that would implement the Justice R.M. Lodha Committee's recommendations for reforms in the national cricketing body — Board of Control for Cricket in India.

Even as the Centre sought some breather, the court asked Attorney General Rohatgi and senior counsel Kapil Sibal to suggest names to be included in the committee of administrators.
