SAN DIEGO, CA- U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at San Ysidro Port of Entry intercepted two separate incidents of narcotics smuggling on Monday. In the first incident at 5:15 a.m., a 42-year-old man in a silver car was found with 7.71 pounds of methamphetamine attached to the vehicle’s undercarriage, valued at $11,565. In the second incident at 7:40 a.m., a 51-year-old man in a black SUV had 2.56 pounds of fentanyl blue pills attached to the undercarriage, valued at $29,000. Both drivers were arrested, and Homeland Security Investigations took custody for further action.
The combined estimated street value of the seized narcotics is $40,565. CBP officers play a crucial role in preventing illegal activities at the border crossing in Southern California while facilitating the entry of millions of legitimate travelers into the United States.
