BSC of Dallas Celebrated the 125th Birth Anniversary of Shri Zhaverchand Meghani

DALLAS, TX- In North Texas, Indian Senior Citizens of Dallas, on the occasion of the 125th birth anniversary of our National Shire Shri Zaverchand Meghani, a grand program of Shri Meghani’s poems, Gujarati folklore, folk music and Srinathji’s bhajans was held at the Murphy Community Center on Saturday, July 9.

This grand folk music program was attended by 175 members and guests at 2:30 p. Praveenbhai Pansuriya, President of the Institute welcomed everyone. and congratulated all the members whose birthdays and marriage anniversaries are coming up in the month of July. Executive Committee members greeted them with flowers.

Mr. Nitinbhai Devka, the owner of Buland Sundar was welcomed by Secretary Mr. VK Limbani from Pushpagunj. Shri Nitinbhai Devka entertained everyone by giving glimpses of Zhaverchandmeghani songs, Gujarati patriotic songs, ghazals, verses, folk songs, bhajans, old Bollywood songs. Especially on the song ‘Mor Bani Thangat Kare,’ everyone was overwhelmed with music and the color of Kasumbi. Along with reminding everyone of the freedom struggle and famine on the song, he made everyone worship by singing the bhajan of Srinathji. Nitinbhai had made everyone dance and dance with Garbo. The members had a lot of fun in this cultural program.

Mr. Vitthalbhai Balar welcomed Mr. Manjariben Menghani, granddaughter of Mr. Zawerchand Meghani, from Pushpagunj. Mr. Manjariben summarized “Jogidas Khuman”, a true story short story with an introduction to Mr. Zawerchand Meghani’s folk tales and folk songs, and spoke of poverty and masculinity of that time very easily.

Mr. Sudhirbhai Dave was welcomed by Mr. Hiralal Sutaria and Mr. Sudhirbhai Dave played the melodious tunes of old Hindi film songs on the bansuri. Dhol and tabla player Shri Jagdishbhai Sheth was welcomed by committee member Shri Nareshbhai Shah. Mr. Jagdishbhai Seth embellished the folk songs by providing rhythm to the singers and made the songs melodious with Mr. Amitbhai Trivedi’s sound system.

Mr. Praveenbhai Pansuriya, President of the organization, was given an award for best social services by the Lions Club of US, Committee Member of the organization Mr. Nareshbhai Shah congratulated all members of the organization and Mr. Vitthalbhai Balar felicitated him with flowers. The President welcomed and thanked Mr. Kapilaben & Mahendrabhai Patel, Mr. Kanubhai Bambhani, Mr. Manubhai Gorsia and Sangitaben & Sanjaybhai Desai who had given financial or other support to this organization.Secretary of this organization Mr. VK Limbani gave a vote of thanks to all artists. Amitbhai Trivedi for thef sound system, the committee members and volunteers of the organization for making the program a success. At the same time, thanks and gratitude were expressed to the large number of members who attended and enjoyed the program. Photographer Mr. Babubhai Patel and Mr. Praveenbhai Hirpara and Champaklal Sheta who brought saffron mango juice from India were applauded for service. A delicious meal and saffron mango juice was enjoyed at the end of the program.
