LAREDO, TX – On July 12, at approximately 6:30 a.m., Border Patrol agents from the Laredo Sector, assigned to the Cotulla Station, discovered and rescued 20 migrants stowed away in a locked train compartment.

While conducting a train check as part of their duties in Cotulla, Texas, the agents found undocumented non-citizens in the locked compartment with no means of escape.

Upon unlocking the compartment, agents provided medical assistance to the migrants, ensuring their health despite the 100-plus degree temperatures. Fortunately, all 20 migrants were found to be in good health.

The migrants, hailing from Mexico and Guatemala, were processed according to their individual immigration status.
