New Delhi, March 26 (IANS) The BJP on Saturday sought dismissal of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat after rebel Congress legislators of the state released a sting video and alleged that he (Rawat) was indulging in horse-trading to save his government.

"After the release of the sting video, Rawat has no moral right to remain as chief minister even for a minute. His government must be dismissed. We are going to meet President in the evening and will ask him to immediately dismiss the state government," Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya said here at a press conference.

"If needed, we will meet Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Prime Minister Narendra Modi too," he added.

Vijayvargiya also accused Rawat of misusing his position and alleged that he was indulging in horse-trading of his own MLAs to save his government.

"Rawat is misusing his position and is indulging in horse-trading of his own Congress MLAs. We had suspected these events which are taking place now and this was the reason we had sought immediate dismissal of the Uttarakhand government or allow him to prove its majority at the earliest. We are not able to understand why the governor gave so much of time to Rawat to prove his majority," Vijayvargiya said.

He also took on Congress for accusing BJP of horse-trading and claimed the party has no role in all these.

"Whatever is happening, BJP had no role to play. It’s a completely internal matter of the Congress. Even their MLAs are not with us. The Congress is accusing us to hide its own weaknesses," he said.

"They don’t have any example to prove their point. In fact, BJP MLAs were enticed and we will prove it when the time comes," he added.
