Bill to repeal farm laws, regulate cryptocurrencies to be tabled at Winter Session

New Delhi, November 23

A draft law to repeal three controversial agriculture laws and another one to regulate cryptocurrencies are among 26 Bills listed for the winter session of Parliament.

The central government’s draft law is a long pending one that bans all private cryptocurrencies in the country and allows only an official digital currency issued by the Reserve Bank of India.

The draft law to regulate cryptocurrencies comes amid concerns over such currencies being allegedly used for luring investors with misleading claims and for funding terror activities

The proposal to repeal three controversial farm laws will be discussed at a cabinet meeting on Wednesday.

The parliament will meet from November 29 to December 23.
