London, Oct 15: England pacer Jofra Archer believes his side can create history and make a World Cup double by winning next year's World T20 slated to be held in Australia.

Earlier this year, England defeated New Zealand to win their maiden 50-over World Cup.

"Hopefully, we can win the T20 World Cup next year," Archer told The Telegraph. "We want to climb the rankings in the Test Championship. I think we can make history. We have started already.

"Hopefully, we can win back-to-back (World Cups). Who's to say we can't? Everyone is around the same age in the group we have got together. We will be together for a lot more years."

Archer played a crucial role in England's successful campaign and picked up 20 wickets in the 11 matches he played. He followed it up by having a spectacular debut Test series at the 2019 Ashes, where he scalped 22 wickets at an average of 20.27 in four matches.

"I pretty much know what I need to do cricket-wise and mentally," Archer said. "I'm at a stage where I know how to look after myself. I've found what works for me and what doesn't," he added.

England will now be touring New Zealand for five T20Is and two-Test series beginning November 1.
