This is the second time you are playing Ma Yashodha; any specific reason why you like mythology?

The reason for choosing this show was that the last time I played Ma Yashodha, I got so much love, appreciation and recognition that I wanted to reprise this role. I am somehow connected to the character, as it was my first lead role. It’s almost like homecoming!

What makes your character stand out?

My character is the driving force and soul of the show. It is different and I am in love with this character. I feel that Ma Yashodha’s energy and her feelings resonate a lot with me. I am very emotional, passionate, overprotective and possessive about my loved ones, just like her.

Is shooting with a child in the show challenging?

Yes, shooting with a small child is very challenging for the whole unit. We have to shoot according to the comfort and understanding of the child. But, having Baby Hazel is also the USP of our show. Such a small child has never been such an important part of a show before.

Tell us about your look in the show…

My look in the show will be pleasant to the eye; it exudes warmth. Ma Yashodha is very feminine, decked up in beautiful silk clothes and jewellery, and just looks like an Indian princess. I really love the costumes, the make-up and jewellery.

How was your experience during the lockdown?

It was somewhat bittersweet. So many of my colleagues from the industry suffered, there was loss of life everywhere, even my neighbours lost their loved ones, and every time I would hear such depressing news, I used to break down mentally as well as emotionally. It was a very confusing, sad and torturous phase in everyone’s life.

Would you want to explore the OTT space?

Of course, I am an actor and a very passionate one. It would be my pleasure and good fortune to explore all platforms, be it films or OTT shows.

What is the first thing you will do once the situation becomes normal?

I love to travel, explore and watch movies. So, whenever the pandemic ends, I am going on a vacation to my favourite place.
