Bengaluru, June 9 (IANS) Power and automation company ABB on Wednesday inaugurated its Global Business Service Centre in Bengaluru.

"The new centre, a continuation of ABB group’s consistent investments in the country, will be a part of its wholly owned subsidiary entity. It is also integral to ABB’s Next Level strategy and marks an important step towards building a state-of-the-art business service organisation," the company said in a regulatory filing.

According to the company, the centre is expected to employ over 1,000 people once it is fully established in 2017.

"India has always been a strategic market for ABB and this opening is an important milestone in making India a global hub for business services in the ABB Group," said Eric Elzvik, Chief Financial Officer and member of the Executive Committee of the ABB Group.

Presently, ABB India has 39 factories at 12 manufacturing locations and 22 branch offices nationwide, and manufactures more than 100 products in India, the regulatory filing added.
