AAPI’s Women’s Leadership Forum Spotlights “Honoring Outstanding Women”

PHILADELPHIA, PA- Women are driving global progress through economic empowerment, education enhancement, and impactful political engagement, demonstrating unprecedented achievements in history. The Women’s Leadership Forum at the 41st Annual Convention by the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI) in Philadelphia celebrated exceptional women leaders who inspire change and set benchmarks for success.

Dr. Udaya Shivangi, AAPI’s Women’s Committee Chair, highlighted the Forum’s initiatives and praised its innovation in India and the US. The theme “Celebrating Women of Excellence” honors women’s accomplishments across domains, breaking stereotypes, and influencing future generations.

In her keynote, Sai Maa, a renowned spiritual master, discussed transitioning to an era of higher consciousness and merging heart and light. She shared strategies for mastering life and health through alignment with innate life force.

Dr. Asha Pillai, an accomplished hematologist, underscored the importance of balance, humility, and vision in overcoming obstacles. She acknowledged AAPI’s global health promotion efforts.

Dr. Rachana Kulkarni, a cardiologist and healthcare entrepreneur, emphasized acquiring secondary degrees and shared her journey as a pioneering physician.

Rituparna Sen Gupta, an accomplished actress and author, highlighted principles that kept her grounded amid her diverse career.

Dr. Himabindu Gadipatti, an oncologist and geneticist, discussed novel cancer solutions’ implementation in developing countries.

Dr. S. Pulluru, a Walmart Health Clinical Executive, discussed the role of Artificial Intelligence in public health and managing challenges in a large healthcare team.

Dr. Smita Joshi, a Diabetes specialist, addressed India’s Diabetes pandemic and her contributions towards combating it.

The Women’s Forum was praised by Dr. Sampat Shivangi, AAPI’s Legislative Committee Chair, and Dr. Ravi Kolli, outgoing AAPI President, for organizing impactful events.

Dr. Manju Sachdev, a pediatrician, educator, and TV host, and Dr. Gita Mehta, an OB/GYN practitioner and AAPI stalwart, moderated an interactive session with accomplished women leaders.

AAPI President Dr. Anajana Samadder acknowledged women’s sacrifices and contributions, saluting the Forum’s impactful endeavors.
