LISLE, IL — The 12th annual Veggie Fest is about to make your taste buds happy. If you’re a vegetarian, you’ll love knowing you can eat something at every single booth in the international food court.

If you’re new to vegetarian food, you’ll find something that makes you say, "Wow, I didn’t know vegetarian food could be so good!" Not eating dairy? No problem. You’ll find plenty of vegan & raw food at the Veggie Fest, too.

The Caribbean Kitchen booth, a Veggie Fest favorite, will be back to tempt you with crispy, spicy, veggie-chicken dishes. There’s a reason why people happily form long lines for these eats every year. If you’ve never experienced eating South Indian dosas–crispy lentil crepes filled with potatoes and onions–you’ve got a treat waiting for you at this popular booth.

New dishes added to the food court this year include an Indonesian booth, three new varieties of pies, sweet lassis, and a new assortment of Indian snacks, including Raj Kachori, Papdi, and Bhelpuri. Not familiar with them? Come to the Veggie Fest and get acquainted.

Fan of authentic ethnic food? You’ll appreciate the variety of vegetarian entrees from the booths offering Chinese, Japanese, Indian, and Mexican foods along with plenty of goodies your kids will love, including pizza and ice cream.

For lighter fare, swing by the organic salad booth or the vendors blending up fruit smoothies and making fresh juice to quench your thirst.

Whether you’re into salty or sweet, the Veggie Fest has got you covered with baked goods, iced cappuccinos, fresh fruits, and young coconuts cracked open right in front of you, in addition to nachos, fries, and veggie kabobs straight off the grill.

With the huge international food court; health professionals speaking on diet, lifestyle, and environmental issues; engaging food demos by restaurant owners, chefs, and authors; an incredible children’s tent with face painting, clowns, and crafts; live music from some of Chicago’s best bands; and over 100 vendor booths to explore, it’s easy to see why over 40,000 people from around the world attended the two-day Veggie Fest last year.

Held on the grounds of Benedictine University, 5700 College Road, Lisle, IL 60532 on August 12 and 13 from 11am to 8pm each day, Veggie Fest is a weekend of family fun with something for everyone!
