New Delhi : After Shantanu and Nikhil’s average opening show, designer Preeti Chandra carried the same spirit forward with the second show of the day at Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week. Her interpretation of the bull-fighter’s jacket from the 17th century for the women of today failed to amaze.

Gaudy jackets with power shoulders and heavy embellishments seemed non-wearable. Gowns and dresses weren’t too impressive either.

The designer on her collection: “My collection was inspired by matadors which are basically the bull-fighters of Spain. I’m inspired by the bull-fighters’ jackets which were very celebrated. It was called jacket of light. You could see a lot of intricate embroidery in the collection. I wanted to interpret them in a way that women can also wear them.”

“I always like to use a lot of vintage concepts and these matador jackets are very old, from the 17th century. I wanted to interpret it in jackets and gowns where we can use it again,” she added.

Day one’s second show, like the first one, was a put-off!
