New Delhi, Sep 28: Ayonika Paul bagged a bronze medal in the women's 10m air rifle event at the Asian Air Gun Championship here on Monday.

The 23-year-old notched up a score of 185 in the final round at the Dr Karni Singh
Shooting Range.

Paul came up with attempts of 10.9 twice during the final. But the 2014 Commonwealth Games silver medallist could only manage a 9 in her last attempt which put paid to her hopes of finishing higher on the podium.

Xiang Wei Jasmine Ser of Singapore won the gold with a score of 208.1 while Elaheh Ahmadi of Iran (206.6) took home the silver.

Pooja Ghatkar and Apurvi Chandela — the other Indians in the fray — had a disappointing outing, finishing fifth and eighth respectively.

Paul's bronze is India's second medal at the competition after Abhinav Bindra clinched the gold in the Men’s 10m Air Rifle final on Sunday.
