Indian American 15-Year-Old Becomes Youngest Graduate of Cal State LA, Heads to Law School

POMONA, CA Vedagna Sarabu, 15, is the youngest graduating senior in Cal State LA’s Class of 2024, earning a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a minor in law and society. Aspiring to become a lawyer, she aims to use her legal expertise to support her community.
Enrolled in Cal State LA’s Early Entrance Program at 11, Sarabu shifted her focus from fiction writing to law. She researched the experiences of former residents of MacLaren Hall, a group home with a history of abuse, under Professor Akhila Ananth’s guidance. Her work highlighted systemic issues in child welfare and earned her faculty praise.
Sarabu also volunteered as a tutor and gained practical experience as a law clerk. She consistently made the Dean’s List and received honors from the Honors College and Early Entrance Program.
Sarabu will attend Chapman University’s Dale E. Fowler School of Law on a full scholarship, ready to continue her journey in law.
