ST. LOUIS, MO – Authorities are searching for a suspect following an armed robbery in North County late Monday night.

According to police, a woman was robbed of her purse at gunpoint near the Glen Ridge Apartments at Empire Drive and Halls Ferry around 11:30 p.m.

Police say the suspect took the woman’s brown purse then fled on foot towards Chambers.

Police describe the suspect as a 5-foot-5, 150 to 160 pound black man who had a black bandana covering his face and a skull cap on his head when he robbed the woman. Police say the suspect was wearing a dark jacket, flannel shirt and blue jeans at the time of the robbery. Authorities say the suspect was armed with a handgun during the incident.

No injuries were reported.
