Fake currency seized in Bengal

Kolkata, Sep 22 (IANS) Fake Indian currency notes (FICN) with face of value of Rs.9 lakh were seized on Sunday from near the India-Bangladesh border in West Bengal’s Malda district, the BSF said.

According to the Border Security Force (BSF), Bangladeshi smugglers had thrown the fake currency kept inside a plastic bag from across the international border into the Indian side.

The South Bengal Frontier of the BSF has seized FICNs with face value over Rs.62 lakh so far in the year.
