BUY-SELL | HELP WANTED | MATRIMONIAL

Unlike popular and existing belief about the Kamasutra which is only taken to be a work of sexual and erotic writing to guide men and women towards the act of sex, Kamasutra is all about pleasure and goes beyond just the physical aspect of it.

Written by Vatsyayana, Kamasutra is called a treatise of love and sex and rather than being a scripture just about positions in bed, it is known to be a work of psychology. Simply because while physical intimacy is limited to bodies, pleasure can only and truly be directed through the mind.

You see, the Kamasutra was written somewhere between 400 BCE and 200 CE. At that time, women weren’t taught how to read and write, it was only the men. And so, despite what most people would say, it was actually a guide for men on how to pleasure the women and not the other way around.

And keeping that in mind, if were to breakdown the essence of the Kamasutra for the modern era man, here are what your takeaways from this profound piece of writing need to be:

1) Consent Is Key

The Kamasutra doesn’t just jump into the sexual act all at once. It issues importance to everything that leads up to it, one of the most important parts being approaching the woman in the right manner.

The book suggests that a man must carefully approach and entice the woman by sharing his desire to consummate.

It is suggested that the man should touch the shoulders of a woman and first seek consent and only when the woman reciprocates the desire, should he lean forward.

2) The Act Of Kissing

According to the Kamasutra, a kiss can be classified into 3 categories. The throbbing, the measured and the brushing kiss.

Each of these is explained with certain attributes and guides men to place loving kisses  not just on the lips, but all across the body from forehead to chest to breasts, thighs and clitoris.

3) ‘64 Act’

The act of intimacy, through the way of Kamasutra, isn’t just about penetrative intercourse, rather, it is divided into a total of 64 acts that together make for an elevated and pleasurable experience.

These acts include conversation, stimulation, enticing, caressing, kissing, scratching, biting, moaning, oral sex, positions, penetration and a lot more.

4) Ladies First

This ancient scripture on sex and loving suggests that women must always be the first ones to be made to climax.

The book suggests that an act becomes all the more intense and pleasurable if the woman orgasms first, especially since she can have multiple orgasms and that in itself becomes a thing to explore and experience, even by the man. It also shares mind-blowing tips to help women achieve a satisfying climax.

5) Beyond Orgasm

While the Kamasutra talks about how the two partners can help each other achieve their orgasms and how that may be enough for a man, it goes beyond that for the women.

It talks about how a woman’s sexual urge can’t just be satisfied with just an orgasm and runs like an itch that can only be satiated if it keeps on getting scratched.

Which would translate into an ongoing process of holding, kissing, conversing and of course, making love.

6) Size Matters

The Kamasutra divides men into different categories based on the size of their penis while women are separated based on the sizes of their vaginas.

It then goes on to share permutations and combinations of what sized penis would be the most compatible with a particular sized yoni (woman’s vagina).

It says that with a perfect match, the two are most likely to experience pleasurable sex.

7) Health Is Wealth

The book also emphasizes the importance of leading a healthy life to experience sexual harmony between couples.

A man must not only shave his face but also his body to stay hygienic while the woman should also pay attention to keeping her body clean.

Even the house must be kept well ventilated, clean and fragrant to ensure a good sex life.
