2 Indian American Scientists Awarded by Pres. Biden

Joe Biden has awarded the National Medals in the fields of science and technology to two Indian American scientists. The scientists are Ashok Gadgil and Subra Suresh.

While Ashok Gadgil has been awarded the National Medal of Technology and Innovation. Subra Suresh is awarded the National Medal of Science.

Gadgil, known as a “humanitarian inventor”, is a retired faculty senior scientist at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.

Subra Suresh is a professor at Brown University’s School of Engineering and former director of the National Science Foundation.

According to the White House, these awards are given to individuals to recognize their outstanding contributions to knowledge in the physical, biological, mathematical, engineering, or social and behavioral sciences, in service to the nation.
