Jayanti Oza Honored with Excellence Community Award for Outstanding Achievements in News Photography and Videography by FIA Chicago

CHICAGO, IL- Chicago’s esteemed press photo and video journalist, Jayanti Oza, originally hailing from Palanpur in Banaskantha district and having called Chicago home for the past 39 years, is renowned for his significant contributions as the Gujarat State Press Photo/Video Journalist from 1970 to 1984. Witnessing the evolution from black and white to digital photography, Oza’s career has been marked by excellence.

His accolades include recognition for his outstanding photographs at Zoom Photography in Delhi and Agfa Photo Gevart in Mumbai, solidifying his presence both nationally and internationally. Over the past 16 years, Oza has dedicated his skills to the Bharatiya Seniors of Chicago in Carol Stream, the FIA of Chicago, and various other organizations in the city. Additionally, he serves as a News Journalist for Gujarat Samachar USA Edition and US-based Gujarat Darpan, along with contributing to several weekly publications in Chicago. Notably, he is a Special Supporter for TV Asia.

A moment of honor arrived on January 28, 2024, at The Matrix Club, Naperville IL, when Jayanti Oza was presented with an award by Somnath Ghose, Consul General of Chicago, among a gathering of nearly a thousand Chicagoans. This recognition was a testament to Oza’s commendable service to the community, particularly for his exceptional work in news photography and videography.
