14 Rare Pictures Of Satyajit Ray That Prove He Himself Could’ve Played Hero In All His Films

BUY-SELL | HELP WANTED | MATRIMONIAL

If you’re familiar with the legacy of the genius that Mr Satyajit Ray was, you’d agree that no introduction would do justice to the sheer talent that he embodied. Right from being one of the greatest film directors of all time, to being one of the most underrated writers ever, to being a supremely talented painter, there is nothing creative or artistic that this man was incapable of doing.

However, because of his indisputable greatness, no one perhaps thought of looking at the superficial, which honestly is noteworthy. Mr Ray, without a shred of doubt, was a bona fide style God who was handsome enough to play the ‘hero’ in all his films. As if his presence itself wasn’t charismatic and magnetic enough, he stood tall at a height of more than 6 feet 3 inches, dwarfing everyone else around in the set. Here are 10 rare pictures that prove the same.

Let us start with a rare picture of his youth. This originally was a black and white picture that has been colorized.

Fun Fact: The famous ‘Feluda’ is based on Sherlock Holmes, and for anyone who has read the original books and seen his artwork, it will be evident that he perhaps had used himself as an inspiration for how the character should look like, and for good reason.

And a final one, with the ‘Mahanayak’ of Bengali cinema, Uttam Kumar. For someone who’s not familiar with the legends, it would be a task guessing who’s the director and who’s the actor.
