V-Day special: Famous Bollywood couples

Mumbai, Feb 15: It’s Valentines Day and how can one forget to talk about famous Bollywood couples who have been with each other for years now and share a lovely bond.

Dilip Kumar and Saira Bano form an unusual pair considering the huge age difference but even today Saira is spotted holding her husband’s hand at every event. The couple got married in 1966 and considering the 22 year age difference, tongues set wagging. But even after 47 years of marriage, the love is still present.

Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bahaduri made for a cute pair when a 6 foot tall Amitabh married a 5 feet 1 Jaya in 1973. Amitabh first did guest appearances in two of Jaya’s films while he was still struggling – Guddi and Piya Ka Ghar. The love story started on the sets of Zanjeer. The film released in May and the very next month the two tied the knot. The couple has two kids – Shweta and Abhishek.

Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh probably make for the cutest pair ever in Bollywood. The two were friends for a long time before Rishi proposed Neetu and tied the knot in 1980. While Rishi belonged to the famous Kapoor family, Neetu was a child actor since the age of eight and came from a Punjabi family in Delhi. Rishi’s alcohol problem had started to take a tool on their marriage but Neetu stood by him and the relationship looks stronger. The couple has two kids – Ranbir and Riddhima.

When news broke that Ajay Devgn and Kajol have got married to each other, the film industry was surprised. Simply because how poles apart the two were. While Kajol was vivacious girl, Ajay was known to be reserved. But the opposites attracted and the two started dating in 1994 during the shoot of their film Gundaraj. The couple finally tied the know in 1999 and has two kids – daughter Nysa and son Yug.

Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza’s love story began on the sets of their debut film Tujhe Meri Kasam which released in 2003. Genelia was just 16 then but love blossomed between the two. However, neither Riteish nor Genelia ever talked about their relationship openly and were hardly seen together in public. And then came the big news of the couple tying the knot in Feb 2012.
