Updates on Temporary Protected Status for El Salvador, Honduras, Nepal, Nicaragua, and Sudan

WASHINGTON, DC- The validity of certain Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) issued to Temporary Protected Status (TPS) beneficiaries from El Salvador, Honduras, Nepal, Nicaragua, and Sudan has been extended through March 9, 2025. Affected individuals will receive a Form I-797, Notice of Action.

If you are a TPS beneficiary from one of these countries and have not re-registered for TPS under the latest extension, you need to submit Form I-821, Application for Temporary Protected Status, during the current re-registration period to maintain your TPS benefits. The deadlines for re-registration are as follows:
• El Salvador: Through March 9, 2025

• Honduras: Through July 5, 2025

• Nepal: Through June 24, 2025

• Nicaragua: Through July 5, 2025

• Sudan: Through April 19, 2025

Although the re-registration periods vary, the EADs are extended uniformly to March 9, 2025. Instructions for re-registering for TPS and renewing your EAD can be found in the most recent Federal Register notice relevant to your country.
