Union Minister Gets Bail In Defamation Allegation Against Maharashtra CM

The court has awarded clemency to BJP Rajya Sabha member and Union Minister, Narayan Rane in a case of a possible act of defamation against the current serving Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Uddhav Thackery. In a formal statement the court said, that “while his arrest is justified, there is no need to keep him in custody.” Mr. Rane had threatened to publicly slap the CM.  Having produced in front of the Judicial Magistrate First Class (FMFC), it was decided that the cabinet minister does not need to be necessarily sent to police custody.
