‘Top Doctor’ award for Indian nephrologist

PORTERVILLE, CA — Dr. Nirupama Vemuri, an Indian American nephrologist at Sierra View Nephrology, in Porterville, Calif., has been named a 2017 “Top Doctor” in that city. 

The Top Doctor awards are dedicated to selecting and honoring those healthcare practitioners who have demonstrated clinical excellence while delivering the highest standard of patient care.

Vemuri, who is also affiliated with Sierra View Medical Center, is an experienced nephrologist and internist, and has been in practice for more than 21 years.

Her career began in 1995, when she graduated from Guntur Medical College in Guntur, India. After moving to the United States, she completed an internship and her residency at the Cleveland Clinic, after which she won a fellowship at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida.

Vemuri is board-certified in both internal medicine and in nephrology, and is known internationally for her expertise in nephrology.

She treats a wide range of conditions, including chronic kidney disease, renal artery arteriosclerotic disease, kidney stones, hypertension, diabetes and acidosis. The specialized procedures she provides include dialysis, hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.

Vemuri maintains a professional membership with the Renal Physicians Association.
