Kolkata, Aug 23 (IANS) Alleging that West Bengal’s ruling Trinamool Congress was in regular touch with the union home ministry, the Left Front Saturday wondered if the CBI, probing the Saradha scam, will be able to reveal the truth behind the scandal.

Addressing media here, Left Front chairman Biman Bose also questioned if the Special Investigation Team (SIT) appointed by the Mamata Banerjee government to probe the scam, was in fact constituted to bury the truth rather than reveal it.

"We don’t know what will be the outcome of this probe. The way the Trinamool is trying to push and pull things, the way its leadership is meeting with the union home minister, and giving out messages, we can’t hope that everything will be discovered," Bose said.

Besides the Left, the Congress and the BJP have repeatedly alleged the involvement of several Trinamool leaders and state ministers in the scam. While the Enforcement Directorate has already interrogated state textile minister and Trinamool leader Shyamapada Mukherjee, the CBI during the day interrogated former state police chief Rajat Majumdar, closely associated with the ruling party.

Bose alleged that SIT was constituted to keep things under wrap.

"The facts that are now coming out, not even a part of it were revealed when the SIT was investigating. So was the SIT actually constituted to keep things under wrap?

"Everything will be known only if the truth is revealed. But if the truth does not comes out then it can be concluded that this has been done intentionally," added Bose.
