‘That’s A Baggage Every Public Figure’s Family Carries’: Taapsee On Aryan Khan’s Arrest

Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s son Aryan Khan has been detained by NCB in regards to the connection with possession of drugs at a cruise party. It has been highlighted that the star kid wasn’t carrying any drugs but his custody was still extended and he was denied bail. The gossip columns have been continuously blogging about Aryan’s arrest. Aryan and seven others arrested in the case have been sent to 14-days of judicial custody.
Taapsee Pannu, who has always been vocal about many issues in the country, hasn’t shied away from sharing her opinions on this case too. She feels there are both perks and disadvantages of being a public personality. She spoke this level of stardom does come with harsh scrutiny.
In an interview with Times Of India, she said, “That’s a part and parcel of being a public figure. And, that’s a baggage every public figure’s family also carries, whether they like it or not. You have the positives of enjoying a star status and this is the kind of negative that also comes with it. If it’s a family of a big star, you also enjoy the perks of that, right? So, there’s a negative side also that you end up facing.”
She went on to add, “I think with that kind of stardom level, you’re aware of the scrutiny that’s going to happen. It’s not like ki kahan se aagaya pata nahi chala (I don’t know where they came from). I’m sure they know the kind of repercussions of things that are going to happen. As far as they are ready to go through the legal process, which is the law of the land, you have to go through it.”
Aryan was sent to the Arthur Road prison in Mumbai on Friday after a local court refused him bail in a drug seizure case. Five other men arrested in the case were also sent to the same jail and the two women accused, including Munmun Dhamecha, were taken to Byculla women’s prison.
People have been defending Aryan on docile media platforms as they think it’s nothing but the witch-hunting technique of NCB.
Over the past week, SRK and Gauri have found support from their industry colleagues like Salman Khan, Karan Johar, Pooja Bhatt, and Hrithik Roshan.
