TAGC Honors Women’s Achievements on International Women’s Day Celebration
More than 500 women from different parts of Chicago land to celebrate the theme “Be the heroine of your life”

CHICAGO, IL: The International Women’s Day celebration organized by the Telugu Association of Greater Chicago (TAGC), in collaboration with the American Telangana Sangham (ATS) was a huge success. The event brought together over 500 women from different parts of the Chicago area to celebrate the theme “Be the heroine of your life.” The program started with a devotional song by Singer Shruti Thakur and the lighting of the lamp by TAGC President, Sri Parameswara Reddy Yarasani, and other dignitaries.
The keynote speech was given by Smt Vidya Nahar, who spoke about the importance of yoga for women, and other speakers, Smt Satya Rangaraju and Smt Subhapriya Lakshmanan, spoke about women’s empowerment. The event also recognized several senior women from the Chicago Area Telugu Seniors (CATS) association who have made significant contributions to the Indian community over the years.
The celebration included a fashion walk, reels competition, guess and grab a saree, Kahoot games, and other activities that kept the attendees engaged. Delicious evening snacks and dinner were arranged by the TAGC food team, and anchor Sameera Illendula added energy to the event with her fun lines and witty questions.
The participants raised money for non-profit organizations, Suguna Foundation and Akshaya Foundation, which support the care and living for needy seniors and education for children respectively. Regal Jewelers sponsored gold and silver coins for raffle tickets, and every participant received a return gift sponsored by Kalyani Jonnavithula, the owner of PM consulting.
TAGC President Parameswara Reddy Yarasani and Women’s Day Chair Madhavi expressed their hope that the event would inspire attendees to continue to work towards empowering women in their communities and thanked the sponsors and partners who supported the event.
