ST LOUIS, MO- One of the famous quotes of Plato is “Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything.” The quote has a very deep meaning and has withstood the test of generations. Arts & Faith St. Louis hosts an annual interfaith commemoration in music at the Sheldon Concert Hall in St. Louis every year since the 10th anniversary of 9/11. Faith can be a very powerful too. As Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said “Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase”
This year’s concert focused on “Great Music of Many Faiths” and was held on September 16, 2018.
The concert included various groups who sang their cultural and religious songs. Each song had a very unique tune and beat that kept the audience glued to their seats. The performance on this wonderful evening showcased that there is no barrier of language when it comes to music and faith.

Unlike other years, this year, Arts & Faith St. Louis gave the audiences an elevated taste of the impact various inter-faith groups have had in the Greater St. Louis region. The groups showcased past interfaith events and promoting the upcoming ones. Each inter-faith group had setup a booth where they showcased how their faith and community is helping uplift the spirits and giving back to the wider society.
Bal Vihar’s booth focused on various inter-faith activities it has been participating in recent years. This included CANstruction, community service projects (walk for water, poverty simulation), visits to other places of worships. Bal Vihar Youths were beaming with confidence and pride as they shared all the activities they have been involved in.
