Sahara Homecare Partners with CVS to Give Free Flu Shots

LOMBARD, IL— Sahara Homecare is offering free flu shots to Homecare Aides and staff in conjunction with CVS pharmacy once again this year.
“We are excited to partner with CVS for the third year in a row, as they have provided great service the past few years,” said Program Coordinator Samina Saeed in a statement. “Getting a flu shot is very important for our caregivers for their health and their safety as well.  We encourage all caregivers to register
and receive a flu shot and not to miss this great opportunity.”

The flu shots clinics will be held at various office locations until October 21. Those interested in signing up can visit https://saharahomecare.com for more information or contact their nearest location.

Sahara’s Community Care Program (CCP), which receives funding through the Illinois Department on Aging, gives additional assistance to the elderly free of cost if they meet certain qualifications. Homecare Aides assist clients with everyday tasks that can become difficult due to old age and deteriorating health. Services include laundry, light housekeeping, meal preparation, grocery shopping, as well as help with feeding, grooming, bathing, and dressing among others.

To qualify, potential clients must:
• Be 60 years or older
• Be a U.S. Citizen or legal alien
• Be a resident of Illinois
• Have non-exempt asset value of less than $17,500
• Have an assessed need for care
•  Have applied for Medicaid

Besides• the main headquarters in Lombard, Sahara has several locations throughout the Chicagoland area including Skokie, Melrose Park, Hanover Park, Bolingbrook, Chicago, Albany Park, Justice, Elgin, Mount Prospect, and Crystal Lake. Starting wage for Homecare Aides is $15.50/hour and caregivers are eligible to receive health benefits if working at least 20 hours per week.
