Mumbai, Jan 3: Progress High School, Goa, and The Unique Model Academy, Imphal, will vie for the first ever sub-junior boys' title when the two teams clash in the final of the Reliance Foundation Youth Sports National Football meet on Sunday at the Reliance Corporate Park ground in Navi Mumbai.

Sub-junior boys is the newest category introduced in the RFYS football competition this season (2019-20), witnessing 2,500 school teams' participation over the last five months.

Goa boys took their game to tie-breaker after 1-1 stalemate against Chandigarh-based Government Model High School, Sector 36, sealing the final berth with a 2-1 win via penalty shoot-out.

On the other side, The Unique Model Academy, Imphal, scraped through to the final as their opponent in the semis, Betkuchi High School, Guwahati, were disqualified by the organising committee for fielding three ineligible players.

In the school girls' category, St Joseph International School, Hisar, defeated Tamil Nadu's Government Girls HSS, Namakkal, by a solitary goal. The Joseph girls will now take the fight to Imphal's Nilmani English School for their claim to the title.

The dominance of East Zone continued in college boys' semifinal clash as well, which saw Shillong College move into the final, where they will take on Dr. Bhupendranath Smiriti Mahavidyalaya, Kolkata.
