PCS sports festival on July 27

Punjabi Cultural Society of Chicago (P.C.S.)  is organizing its 19th annual Sports Festival on Saturday July 27, 2013 at Falcon Park Recreation Center, 2195 N. Hicks Road in Palatine Illinois.

 

The PCS Chicago Basketball tournament will be held indoors in the courts of the new state-of-the-art air-conditioned facilities, and the Volleyball tournament and other family fun games and activities for children and races will be outdoors at Falcon Park from 9 AM to 7 PM.

 

Entrance is free for the tournament spectators. Free Punjabi food and free parking at the park. All are welcome with families to watch, play, and enjoy the games and free food until it lasts.

 

The park is located near the crossing of Rand Road and Hicks Road in Palatine.

 

"Basketball and Volleyball are very popular games in schools that our children play and enjoy, P.C.S. is promoting these sports among our youth," said Surinder Singh Sangha the P.C.S. Chicago president.

 

"We want to encourage our next generation to get good education, play sports, eat right, exercise, and maintain a drug-free and alcohol-free healthy lifestyle," said Lakhvir Singh Sahota the P.C.S. Chicago Chairman.

 

Ten Basketball and eight Volleyball qualified team registrations will be accepted on first come first serve basis to limit the tournament to one day.

 

The PCS Chicago Basketball and Volleyball Championship Cups, first prize of $1100 and the second prize of $500 along with individual player trophies will be awarded to the winners and the runners-up of each sport. Children and adult races winners will receive prizes and gifts.

Last date to register teams is July 21, 2013, and the registration fee is $50 per team. Individual athletes can register on site at sports festival.
