Hyderabad: Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has decided to increase scheduling of appointments for submitting applications to 100 per cent at all Passport Seva Kendras (PSKs), Passport Seva Laghu Kendras (PSLKs) and 14 Post Office Passport Seva Kendras (POPSKs) with immediate effect to reduce waiting time.
The Ministry took the decision since it had received several emails and telephone requests from applicants on the restriction on number of appointments being slotted in PSKs and POPSKs resulting in increase in applicants’ waiting period from seven to 12 days.
The public enquiry counter at the Regional Passport Office in Secunderabad would also function from 9.30 am to 4 pm with immediate effect, Regional Passport Officer Dasari Balaiah said on Thursday.
