Painters District Council 14 Endorses Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot’s Reelection Campaign

CHICAGO, IL – The Painters District Council 14 announced Monday they are endorsing Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot for reelection. Mayor Lightfoot has been a committed ally of the labor movement throughout her administration, and the Painters District Council 14 joins many other unions in endorsing her for four more years–including, most recently, the Chicago Journeymen Plumbers Local Union 130 UA.

“During her first administration, Mayor Lori Lightfoot has counted union members in for a better deal for working Chicagoans,” said Joseph Rinehart, Business Manager and Secretary-Treasurer at the Painters District Council 14. “Despite the turbulence of the pandemic, Mayor Lightfoot stepped up to make sure that union workers were recognized when our jobs had uncertain futures, and that our members received the support and resources necessary to ensure safe and healthy conditions at work sites. Mayor Lightfoot’s hallmark efforts of neighborhood investment and revitalization have provided jobs and even more support for our union members, and we at the Painters District Council 14 are proud to endorse Mayor Lightfoot for another four years.”
