Omicron Threat: Sunday Funday, Charminar programmes postponed again

Hyderabad: The threat posed by the Omicron variant of the coronavirus has once again forced authorities here to postpone the Sunday Funday programme at Tank Bund and its Old City version, the ‘Ek Shaam Charminar Ke Naam’ programme.

Urban Development Special Chief Secretary Arvind Kumar tweeted on Friday, saying that until some clarity emerges on Omicron, the Sunday Funday at Tank Bund and Ek Shaam Charminar Ke Naam programmes were put on on hold and would not take place this Sunday.

This is not the first time that the Omicron threat has hit the Funday and Charminar programmes. Last week too, in view of the uncertainties regarding the new coronavirus variant and keeping precaution as a priority, the events were postponed.
