NYTTA Commemorates Maha Shivratri and Empowers Women on International Women’s Day

NEW YORK, NY- The New York Telangana Telugu Association (NYTTA) recently organized the NYTTA SAMBARALU, a celebration of Maha Shivaratri and Women’s Day on March 4, 2023 at the Hindu Temple Auditorium in Flushing. The event was attended by over 600 guests from various parts of New York City, Long Island, New Jersey, and Connecticut. Children from the local community showcased their talents with graceful dances and devotional songs, while artists from India performed filmi and Telangana-specific folklore. A sumptuous dinner featuring special dishes from the Telangana state was served, with some ingredients flown in specially from India.

The event was honored by the presence of Mr. Dilip Chauhan, Deputy Commissioner for Trade, Investment and Innovation at the Mayor’s Office for International Affairs and Brooklyn President’s Office. He is well-known for his strong bond with the Indian community, particularly Telugus, in New York and Long Island. In his speech, Mr. Chauhan praised the leaders of NYTTA for their efforts in promoting the cultural values of Telangana and encouraging the children to grow up as responsible citizens. He also acknowledged the contributions of Telugus as a rapidly growing community in New York, who play a significant role in the fields of education and the economy.

Dr. Rajender Jinna, Chairman of NYTTA, thanked Mr. Chauhan for his support and praised the organization’s efforts to serve the community in the US and back in India. Mr. Sunil Reddy Gaddam, President of NYTTA, highlighted the upcoming activities of the organization and its innovative themes. The founder of the organization, Mr. Srinivas Guduru, shared his vision for establishing the organization in New York and thanked Mr. Chauhan for his continuous support to the South Asian community, particularly Telugus.
