New York Consulate Launches Internship Portal for Students

NEW YORK, NY – The Consulate General of India in New York has launched an initiative to assist Indian students studying in the northeastern United States, the region it serves. The consulate’s move will assist Indian students with internship opportunities, legal referrals, and access to medical professionals.

Indian students have been arriving in large numbers to the US, making up 25 percent of the over one million foreign students in the country.

A significant part of the initiative is a new online platform that connects Indian students with internship opportunities at various companies across the US. The portal lists positions in a wide range of fields, including finance, IT, investment banking, automotive, software, science and technology, healthcare, hotels, multinational corporations, government agencies, aviation, artificial intelligence, and pharma.

“As part of the initiative to support Indian students in its jurisdiction, @IndiainNewYork has developed a platform for Indian Students to find internship opportunities at companies in the USA,” the Consulate announced on X.

The New York Consulate is also providing students with referrals to attorneys and doctors within its jurisdiction.

“Members of the community may reach out to the Attorneys directly with the Consulate General’s reference,” the Consulate cautioned. “It may please be noted that this initiative is aimed at assisting the Indian community and that the Consulate does not hold any responsibility for the outcome of the case.”
