Neeraj Chopra Asked About ‘Sex Life’ By Padma Bhushan Awardee & People Are Livid

BUY-SELL | HELP WANTED | MATRIMONIAL

Being a world-class athlete is not easy. It takes a hell lot of hard work, dedication and sacrifices to reach the top of any sport. But if you ask Neeraj Chopra what he finds more difficult to cope with between his training or attending interviews, he would definitely pick the latter, without blinking an eye.

It’s sad that a javelin thrower who did India proud by winning a historic Olympic gold medal in Tokyo last month has had to go through some of the most bizarre interviews, where people made him uncomfortable with their stupid questions or disrepecteful gestures.

Ladiesssss..Yes I got the hard hitting, deep answers too but..Take the first 4 secs before the cam moves to the zoom call to guess who we are dancing for 😉 #udejabjabzulfeinteri and then tell me I did it for all of us #gold #olympics #neerajchopra @RedFMIndia @RedFM_Mumbai pic.twitter.com/SnEJ99MK31

It’s disgusting that, rather than talking about his achievement, some people are treating him like an eye candy and are more interested in knowing his relationship status. We saw how a  popular radio jockey Malishka Mendonsa made him uncomfortable with her dance performance and even asked him for a virtual hug at the end.

If this was not all, a noted art historian Rajeev Sethi went a notch further and asked the star athlete about his “sex life” and his training and how he maintains a balance between the two during an Indian Express live interaction.

If you thought Malishka was Cringe WATCH Rajeev Sethi go a STEP FURTHER He asked Neeraj Chopra : “How Do you Balance your Sеx Life with your training??” Disgusted Neeraj replied “Aapke question se mera mann bhar gaya” #NeerajChopra #RajeevSethi pic.twitter.com/qwVd7hAot4

Sethi, sitting in his car, started by complimenting Neeraj not for his achievement but for his looks. “What a handsome young man you are!” he said.

He knew Neeraj would not be comfortable answering his question, that it would make him uncomfortable, but he went ahead saying this was something that many Indians are curious to ask him but are hesitant.

“How do you maintain a balance between your sex life and athletic training? I know this is a weird question,” asked Sethi, making Neeraj very uncomfortable.

Being the polite man that he is, Neeraj simply responded by saying “Sorry” but Sethi kept on insisting to which the athlete replied: “Sorry, sir. I have said sorry, you can know my answer from that.”

Despite that, Sethi kept on insisting how important his question was to the budding athletes. Neeraj was completely miffed and he said: “Apke question se mera mann bhar gaya (your question has overwhelmed me).” He then asked the moderator to intervene and move on to the next question.

Furious with such a ridiculous question, people lashed out at the art historian for crossing all limits and disrespecting the 23-year-old athlete. People also raised the question if he would have dared to ask the same question to a top cricketer like Virat Kohli.

Media persons need to recognise that @Neeraj_chopra1 is a national icon. They need to treat him with respect irrespective of his age or background. The repeated instances of casual disrespect are a reflection of a deep-rooted class bias.

How mannerless !

Some people feel interview hain toh koi bhi sawal pucch sakte hain !

It’s sick & disgusting how someone can ask such personal questions to anyone

There are some lines of decency which should never be crossed & this man has crossed all limits !

He is very high in Elitist hierarchy. They dare not ask Kohli such a thing.

This is harrassment. Targetted exploitation. We will have to wait another 3 years for a gold but this moment is spent asking lusty crap. There is absolutely no respect for sportsmen. And winners puttin their call from PM on speaker is mocked.thats the sick world now.shameful.

From falling sick to ending his season prematurely, Neeraj has already suffered enough from this excessive media coverage, and interviews like these are clearly not something a champion athlete like him deserves.
