SAN JOSE, CA – The San Jose chapter of BAPS Charities recently hosted its annual “In the Joy of Others: Walk-Run,” rallying support for El Camino Health’s South Asian Heart Center and the CityServe of Tri-Valley.

Spanning 72 cities across North America, the BAPS Charities Walk-Run champions a myriad of causes, from education and health to environmental stewardship, humanitarian aid, and local emergency services support. It serves as a testament to the transformative force of community involvement in nurturing healthier societies, embodying unity and a dedication to meaningful change.

This year, the event drew in nearly 1,050 community members, including notable figures like Alameda County Supervisor David Haubert, Milpitas Mayor Carmen Montano, and Fremont Councilmember Dr. Raj Salwan, who came together in solidarity to support BAPS Charities, the South Asian Heart Center, and the CityServe of Tri-Valley. Participants of all ages, from youth to seniors, converged for a common purpose, showcasing the power of collective action.

Christine Beitsch-Bahmani, CEO of CityServe of the Tri-Valley, expressed gratitude for the funds received, emphasizing the organization’s commitment to aiding those in need through preventative measures. Councilmember Dr. Raj Salwan underscored the event’s significance, praising BAPS Charities for its dedication to community service and its ability to unite individuals in philanthropy and shared purpose.
