Javed Akhtar Shines in Chicago with Jahnvi Shrimankar and Meiyang Chang’s Stunning Live Performances

CHICAGO, IL- The Yellow Box theater resounded with thunderous applause as renowned poet and lyricist Javed Akhtar took the stage on Friday night for the event titled “Main Koi Aisa Geet Gaoon.” Organized by AB Entertainment and Aarush Entertainment, the collaboration delighted the audience with captivating anecdotes and stories behind Akhtar’s two thousand songs and dialogues in Hindi cinema. The event featured talented singers Jahnavi Shrimankar and Meiyang Chang, along with a gifted team of musicians, performing some of Akhtar’s most beloved compositions.
The evening began with a mesmerizing dance performance by students from the Shirlzar Dance Company. Over 1000 attendees from Chicago and neighboring states were enthralled by the enchanting performances and the lively interaction between Javed Akhtar and the singers. The event served as a celebration of India’s rich musical heritage and paid tribute to one of its most revered writers.
Event organizers Altaf Bukhari, Manoj Rathod, and Sarik Bukhari expressed their gratitude to Javed Akhtar, the singers, and the audience for the overwhelming response. They also thanked the sponsors and partners for their unwavering support and cooperation.
Altaf Bukhari remarked that “Main Koi Aisa Geet Gaoon” was an unforgettable event that brought together music enthusiasts from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Manoj Rathod of Aarush Entertainment echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the rare opportunity to witness the genius of Javed Akhtar and the talents of the performers.
Ankit Mahajan, a member of the organizing team, described the event as a one-of-a-kind musical experience that would be cherished for years to come. Sariq Bukhari, the event’s anchor, praised Meiyang Chang and Jahnavi Shrimankar for their remarkable contributions to Bollywood and beyond. He highlighted Chang’s journey from dentist to singer and actor, as well as Jahnavi Shrimankar’s Filmfare Award-winning performance in the song “Dholida” from the movie Gangubai Kathiawadi.
Rakesh Malhotra, a Chicago-based poet, recited Javed Akhtar’s poem “Banjara” from the book Tarkash and described the musical program as a captivating collection of anecdotes and stories intertwined with iconic Hindi cinema songs.
The event was attended by dignitaries and community leaders, including Consul Ranjit Singh, Pinky Thakkar, Sunil Shah, and Prachi Jaitly. The promoters of the show, namely Ashwani Mahajan, Ankit Mahajan, Chetan Pandya, Mukesh Patel, Mohammed Ajaz, and Amira Ajaz, showered praise on the event.
