ISKCON Celebrates Gaura Purnima Festival with Vibrant Colors and Joyous Spirit

CHCAGO, IL: Gaura Purnima, the celebration of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu’s appearance, was held at the ISKCON Temple in Chicago on March 6th, 2023. The event was attended by hundreds of people from various backgrounds, including devotees from different nationalities, races, and religions.
The Deputy Consul General of India, Chicago, Shri T. D. Bhutia, addressed the gathering and spoke about the relevance of the Bhagavad Gita as a solution to daily problems. ISKCON Chicago has been serving the Rogers Park community for over 50 years and is part of the global ISKCON community of 650+ temples, Bhakti Centers, farmlands, eco-villages, and vegetarian restaurants.
The Hare Krsna movement is based on Bhakti Yoga and traces its roots back 5,000 years. The temple holds regular Sunday Feast events, study groups, music and Sunday school classes, distributes food and spiritual books, and hosts festivals and workshops.
