NEW YORK, NY — On March 8, a grand program for Woman’s Empowerment was planned by the Federation of Indian Associations (FIA) at the Indian Consulate, New York.

Five prominent women addressed more than a hundred guests. Women from social, economic, industrial, music and educational areas as well as some successful women who created their own place in communities made the stage majestic.

According to FIA chairman Ramesh Patel, the program was attended by Miss India USA and were women pilots and co-pilots from Air India. Women who created their separate places in different fields were honored by Consul General Sandeep Chakraborty with a shawl.

Said FIA president Srujal Parikh: “I am surrounded by women with a strong talent every day–my mother, my wife, my daughter, and my friends,” and thanked the womenfolk in the FIA team who served as the backbone to make this event possible.

Chakraborty also congratulated every woman who had made her own special place with her hard work and courage.
