30th edition of Tripura Industries and Commerce Fair continues in full swing in Agartala

Agartala (Tripura) [India], Feb 13 (ANI): For encouraging young entrepreneurs, and promoting the culture of Tripura, the eighteen-daylong, 30th edition of Tripura Industries and Commerce Fair, continues in full swing in the state capital Agartala.
The fair which is being held at the Agartala International Fair and Exhibition ground at Hapania is organised every year to promote Tripura’s natural resources and also to provide enormous scope for setting up industries of agro and allied products.
The fair was inaugurated by the Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb.
Talking about the increase in the number of participants from various states, Rajesh Das, the organiser of the fair, said: “This year, the participants are more. The fair is witnessing both national and international participation. Last year it had 192 stalls and this year it has increased to 282.”
Scores of traders from various states including Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi, and other northeast states are participating in the ongoing fair.
Many small and large scale investors of Tripura were displaying their products in the pavilions. The products included bamboo products, handicrafts, handloom, natural gas, rubber, organic products, tea, food processing, and other handmade products.
Kartik Nama, one of the Bamboo artisans from the fair, expressed about how such fair encourages young entrepreneurs.
“Fair like this encourages young entrepreneurs and it has given us an opportunity to revive the dying culture of Tripura,” he said.
Some of the main attractions in the on-going fair are the products of Bangladesh like furniture, plastic items, clothes, flowers, jewellery.
The manufacturers are able to display their products in the fair which is saving the cost of advertisements.
A seminar on promoting tourism was also organised which focused on making Tripura an exciting tourist destination.
A visitor, Amira Jha, said: “We have come as a community together. People are getting united through this fair and there are also entertainment events being held for all age group visitors to enjoy”.
To promote Khadi products, a colourful fashion show was also organised at the fair.
This year’s 30th edition of Tripura Industries and Commerce fair will wind up on Saturday, 15th February. (ANI)
